Wolves Join Race for Verona Right-Back Jackson Tchatchoua

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Hellas Verona right-back Jackson Tchatchoua, according to Matteo Moretto. The Cameroon international is reportedly approaching 'important days' regarding his future, with Nottingham Forrest and several Serie A clubs also in the mix. Wolves are understood to be keeping a close eye on developments, as Vítor Pereira looks to bolster his defensive options before the transfer window closes.

Player Profile

Tchatchoua represents Cameroon at international level, and is capable of playing as both a right-back and a right wing-back, as well as being able to operate on the left if needed. Tchatchoua joined Verona permanently in 2024 after a loan from Belgian side Charleroi. In Serie A, he has made 62 appearances, scoring twice and providing five assists. Last season, he made 36 appearances, creating 34 chances, with 24 successful crosses. According to Fotmob, he also made 121 recoveries, won 31 aerial duels and won possession 14 times in the final third, showing a strong balance between defensive reliability and attacking support.

Why He's In Demand

Tchatchoua's appeal lies in his blend of pace, defensive commitment, and crossing ability. He excels at carrying the ball up the pitch and creating overloads in wide areas while maintaining positional discipline in defence. His adaptability to different tactical systems makes him a valuable target for both Premier League and Serie A sides.

For Wolves, he fits the profile of the right wing-back position they are looking to fill following the departure of Nélson Semedo. He could offer Pereira the option to push his wing-backs higher and provide width in attacking phases while still being defensively dependable when the team is under pressure.

With "Important Days" ahead, the race for Tchatchoua's signature could be decided quickly, and Wolves will be hoping to land a player with both immediate impact and long-term potential.
