Micah Richards Drops New Wolves Prediction for the Season

Micah Richards, the former Manchester City defender turned popular pundit, has shared a fresh prediction for Wolves' 2025/26 Premier League season.

Wolves started last season grimly under former manager Gary O’Neil, with just two wins in 16 matches, leaving them languishing at the bottom of the table. However, Pereira’s arrival in December 2024 sparked a remarkable turnaround. The Portuguese manager, known for his tactical versatility and fan-friendly demeanor, led Wolves to victories over Leicester City and Manchester United, plus a draw at Tottenham.

Key Players Driving Hope

Richards singled out Wolves’ attacking trio of Jørgen Strand Larsen, Hwang Hee-chan, and the now-departed Matheus Cunha as key to their improved fortunes. Despite Cunha’s £62.5 million move to Manchester United, Strand Larsen’s 14 goals last season and Hwang’s return from injury provide firepower. The addition of new signings like Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias further bolsters their squad.

Richards' Prediction

Micah Richards said: “I think it’s going to be a tough season for Wolves. One week you watch them and you think, they’ve got the combinations.”

“I really like the manager and how confident he is on what he says. I don’t know if the players are good enough to do what he wants to do. I think they’re doing it in little patches, but I think they’ll struggle. I think it’s going to be a relegation battle this year.”

“Burnley I worry about a little bit going forward. Not defensively. Wolves I worry about, and Sunderland. Those are my three that I worry about the most this season.”

However, Richards did also offer up one positive for Wolves fans to focus on for the season ahead. That is the fact Wolves actually did well in the absence of Cunha last season.

He said: “I mean they dealt without Cunha, you know when he had his red cards and what not, Strand Larsen stepped up massively. It’s different being the main man and the guy that comes in for the main man.”
